What is Child-Parent RElationship therapy? and Why do I need iT?
Do you ever feel like you cannot possibly understand your child or preteen? Are you tired of limit testing behaviors, constant arguments over screen time, or fighting to complete homework or chores? Do you feel disconnected from your child and wish you could have a deeper relationship?
Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT) is a 10 week course that teaches you – the parent – ways to connect with your child through skill building, changing the language we use in parenting, learning to set limits in a clear and defined way, introducing choices to our kids, and reconnecting through play. CPRT focuses on relationships with your 3-11 year old, but skills learned can be used with all ages.
CPRT is conducted in a small group setting with other parents who are going through similar parenting struggles to you. Groups are facilitated by a trained therapist, and bolstered with peer support and encouragement.
